In this workshop, participants will be introduced to a range of surface decoration techniques for greenware and learn how to combine them to create visually rich and expressive ceramic surfaces. The live demonstrations will showcase methods such as carving, underglaze painting, Sgraffito, stamping and stamp making, as well as using templates and image transfers. The students will gain insights into each technique’s possibilities and how they can be used to add nuance, detail, and personal character to ceramic work—enhancing the stories artists wish to convey through clay.
