Tea Time at Belger Crane Yard Studios

Tea Time showcases a selection of teapots from Belger Crane Yard Studio’s gallery paired with pieces from the Belger collection. As we enter into our 6th month of social distancing, these objects celebrate times of togetherness, sharing space, and serving one another. Unified amongst their function, this unique grouping highlights a vast diversity of artistic styles and approaches to making teapot forms.

Teapots hold a special place in the tradition of ceramic art and pottery making. Whether considering the social and cultural overtones of preparing and serving tea, to acknowledging the technical mastery required to construct the complex object, teapots have played a vital role in the conversation between art and craft, form and function. We are grateful to have all of your teapots as examples of the continuation of this legacy.
