The Clay Studio: 100 Cups at the National Council on Education in the Ceramic Arts Conference (NCECA)

The Clay Studio: 100 Cups will explore the mentor / mentee relationships amongst makers. The display will encourage conversation on the intersecting nature of makers while providing access to the work of artists both new and established. The opportunity to compare form, weight, surface and design of these cups will be an incredible opportunity for all NCECA attendees.

Each artist will send 10 cups.

One cup per artist will be displayed in the booth.

Once a cup is purchased it will be replaced with another cup by the same artist.

All cups will be packaged with a card about the maker.

The Clay Studio will produce a book highlighting participating artists and their work. The content will include biographical information, statements from the artist, and 100 full color images representative of each artist’s work. It is our goal that this book be used as a teaching tool or personal reference guide for students, artists and collectors.

The Clay Studio will offer digital access to the book through a website, making all the information accessible for free.
